Above: Staining and painting techniques made this bench a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture. Three different colors of stain were used: Dark brown, cherry and blue. Striping techniques were used to decorate the seat.
This piece was donated for the 2007 Wisconsin Public Televison (WPT) Art & Antiques Auction by Shena Blomgren. Donated pieces will be exhibited at the Memorial Union Gallery in Madison May 23-26 2007.
Shena Blomgren, artist and owner of Red Canary LLC, created the design concept and decorated the bench. The bench was constructed by Charles Shaver (Shena's Grandfather), Shaver's Woodshavings, Cresco, Ia.
